Willie Mae Hailey was born 92 years ago on April 8, 1929 in Saluda, SC to the late Willie Fed and Cora Lee Matthews.
Willie Mae attended school in the Saluda public school system. At an early age, she joined the Antioch Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir and a Mother of the church and served faithfully until her health declined and could no longer drive herself to church.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late James Collins Hailey on December 25, 1951. They were married for over 40 years. She was employed by the Gardner's in Ninety Six, SC (domestically) and later with Greenwood Mills until her retirement.
She was also an active member of the Women's Aid Society #104 and the Little Mountain Road Community Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Jeanette Hailey Cherry of Suitland, MD and Lorraine H. Blair of Ninety Six, SC; three grandchildren, Krystle Blair (Aviss) Dendy, Krystal Cherese Cherry and Eric (Britney) Blair; three great-grandsons, Kameron Blair, Ashtun and Austyn Dendy. A very special friend, Belinda Mickle, special daughters, Kit and Susie Gardner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are 11:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Antioch Baptist Church( Saluda), conducted by Rev. Joseph Caldwell. Burial will follow in Enoree Zion Baptist Church Cemetery ( Ninety Six, SC). Viewing will be from 1:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. Please be mindful and practice social distancing. Arrangements are being handled by Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc.
