Ninety Six, SC- Willie Crosby Caldwell, 76, of 2815 Highway 246 South, husband of Jannie Higgins Caldwell, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Willie Caldwell and the late Helen Kemp Caldwell. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a member of the Brotherhood organization. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and he was a carpenter. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Leon Caldwell, and Terry Lynn Caldwell.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of “48 years”, Jannie Caldwell of the home; three daughters, Monica Renee (Dantron) McBride of Simpsonville, SC, Jane Junine (Jason) Carroll of Greenwood, SC, and Sarah Helen Caldwell of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Malcolm (Willie Mae) Caldwell, Rev. Joseph (Willie Mae) Caldwell, and James (Sandy) Caldwell all of Ninety Six, SC, and Arthur (Virginia) Caldwell of Monks Corner, SC; one sister, Shelia (Kenneth) Reynolds of Greenwood, SC; two grandsons, Janson Carroll of Hodges, SC, and Shakel Boozer of Greenville, SC; one granddaughter, Tiffany Caldwell-Montgomery of Charlotte, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ninety Six, SC, conducted by Rev. Robert Heflin Jr. Body will be placed in the church at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in the Ninety Six Community Cemetery. Public viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc, also the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M-8:00 P.M. at the home.
