Walter Romaster Carter

Greenwood, SC- Walter Romaster Carter, 84, of 1518 Parkway, Apt. 8-C, transitioned from earth to heaven on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, he was the son of the late George Carter Sr. and the late Elizabeth Hentz Carter. He was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E Church, and he was a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by a son, Reginald Lamont Carter; and one daughter, Priscilla Carman Drennon.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Kenneth (Diane) Carter of Honea Path, SC, Michael (Marine) Jones of Promised Land, SC, and Mark Carter of Greenwood, SC; three daughters, Melissa (Harold) Henderson of Bradley, SC, Ruth Turman and Eushanda Carter both of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Mary Allen of Promised Land, SC, and Inez Carter of Patterson, NJ; sixteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. James Louden. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
