Mrs. Daisy Davis Patterson Obituary

Mrs. Daisy Mae Davis Patterson, 80, formerly of Cokesbury, SC passed at home on November 1, 2023, when God sent His angels for her to enter eternal rest.

She was born in Abbeville County on July 9, 1943.  She was the devoted wife of Deacon Charles N. Patterson. They married on December 25, 1965 (57 years). She was the youngest daughter of the late George A. Davis, Sr. and Alice Aiken Davis.

She was educated in the Abbeville Public School System and a former employee of Piedmont Agency on Aging (Meals on Wheels), Gatewood Country Club, Cokesbury Grocery, etc. and owner of Daisy’s Country Kitchen and part-owner of Little House Restaurant.  She retired from working September 2021.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, planting and flower gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

At an early age, she joined Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Hodges, SC and when she married, she joined Beulah Baptist Church.  She was a Deaconess, member of the Choir, Missionary, Pastor’s Aid, Willing Workers, and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.  She was also a former member of Perfecting Full Gospel Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. She was also a member of the Women’s Aid Society 91.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Davis, George Hayward Davis, and Marzel Davis; and five sisters, Alberta Chamberlain, Mae Ella Scott, Alice Nicholson, Essie Wright, and Thelma Bowers.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her devote husband of the home; a daughter Sandra (Joseph) Graham of Columbia, SC and son, Charles “Rodney” Patterson (Mary Holloway) of Greenwood, SC; one sister, Edith Moore (Abbeville Nursing Home); four grandchildren, Denzel R. Patterson, Brandon “Shakor” Patterson, Trakas Patterson, all of Greenwood, and Dewayne D. Hemingway of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and five great-grandchildren, two Sisters-in-Law, Jennie Rice of Tuscaloosa, AL, Elizabeth Patterson of Hodges, SC, special niece, Janie Aiken of Hodges, SC, Honorary brothers, Izeal Mitchell of Greenville, SC, Harry Mitchel of Conroe, TX, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church, Bishop Emanuel Spearman, Presiding and Reverend George C. Patterson, Officiating. Burial will follow at the Evening Star Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc.
