Jessie “Babysis” Mae Murray Hill, 71, of 5426 McCormick Highway, widow of the late Walter Hill, Sr., departed her Earthly home for her Heavenly home on September 14, 2023. She was born October 3, 1951, to the late Jesse and Lillie Lee Harmon Murray. She was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1969 and Piedmont Technical College. She was a faithful member of Glovers Chapel Baptist Church, where she previously served as an Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Senior Choir, Usher, and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Women’s Home Aid Society Lodge #77.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband, her parents, sisters Elease and Wyoming and nephew Darin Keithleen. She is survived by her brother Clyde Wideman and sisters; Shirley Ann Murray, Doris Jean Lyons, Eloise Tate and Winona Murray. She is also survived by her nieces Mary (Rodney) Wideman-Williams and Tara (Glenn) Murray-McCier and nephews Kevin Tate, Charles (Wanda) Murray, and Jacob (Ebony) Tate; fourteen great-nieces and nephews, God-Daughter Stacey Wideman; a special uncle Charlie Myles, an honorary aunt Zola Wright and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Glovers Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Charles Boyce. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-6 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at Robinson and Son Mortuary, Inc. and the family will receive friends at the home from 3-7 p.m. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
