Mrs. Debra Elaine Norman-Parker, 62, of 130 Rosemont Drive, married to Andrew Parker, entered into eternal rest on Thursday May 30, 2019 at Anmed Health Center.
Debra was born on November 22, 1956 in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Odell Norman Sr. and the late Pauline W. Norman. She attended Greenwood High School Class of 1974. She also attended Piedmont Technical College and Lander University, where she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She worked at Self Regional Healthcare/Montgomery Center with multi-positions over 35 years until retirement. She was a volunteer at the Greenwood soup kitchen ministry and a volunteer at the voting precinct for Post 224. She was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board, a member of the Missionary, former Sunday school teacher, a class leader, and a member of the Praise Team and The Chancel Choir.
Debra was preceded in death by, her father Odell Norman Sr, and her mother Pauline W. Norman and her nephew Dexter R. Norman Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Andrew Parker of Greenwood; one daughter Tomeko L. Curenton-Lomax (Ivan) of Hodges, a stepson Jerrett R. Parker of Greenville; three brothers Odell Norman Jr. (Linda) of Greenwood, James Roundtree of Greenwood, Dexter R. Norman Sr. (Stephanie) of Greenwood; one sister Delta D. Hawes Of Greenwood; one grandson Memphis James Lomax (MJ) of Hodges; two aunts, Lohana Mosley of Greenwood; Annie Doris Ruff of Ninety Six; one uncle Charlie Pinckney of Philadelphia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Mt. Zion AME Church., conducted by Rev. James Louden III. Mrs. Parker will be placed in the church at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
