Cora Harling Obituary

Cora Davis Harling, 96, widow of Otis Harling Sr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in McCormick, she was the daughter of the Late Cleveland Davis and Elizabeth Morgan. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Louise Davis. She was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, in McCormick, where she was the mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son James Harling, two daughters Louise Simon and Pearlie Mae Tennant, one brother Joe Morgan and two sisters, Betsy Jessup and Cleola Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories, six sons, John L. Harling of Greenwood, Otis Harling, Jr. and Willie (Alice) Harling both of McCormick, William (Mary) Hearst of Bradley, Barnett Harling of the home and Robert Harling of Anderson; three daughters, Lillie Middleton of Greenwood, Rose (Donnie) Freeman of Hodges and Mary Talbert of the home; four sisters, Eartha Mae Moore and Carrie Lou Rayford, both of Greenwood, Rosa Lee Davis of Greenville and Juanita White of McCormick; three grandchildren raised in the home Kenneth Davis and Ranea Brown, both of Greenwood and Rosalyn Kelly of Augusta, GA; over 40 grandchildren, over 60 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services are 3:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Mt. Zion AME Church in McCormick, with Pastor Lebbie L. Ligon, officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:15 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
