Durham, NC- Claude Workman Dunlap, 85, of 2 Rock Cottage Court, Apt. 2-C, widower of Evelyn White Dunlap, transitioned from earth to heaven on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Legion Road Healthcare of Orange County. Born in McCormick, South Carolina he was the son of the late Anthony Dunlap Jr. and the late Rosa Lee Harrison Dunlap. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, and Shiloh A.M.E. Church. He retired from Duke University after 34 years of service and retired from the waste industry after 10 years of service, both in Durham, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by Odell Dunlap, Johnny Lee Dunlap, and Franklin Jerome Dunlap.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Anita Bryant Hamilton of Graham, NC; two brothers, Rev. Anthony (Rev. Phyllis) Dunlap III of Bradley, SC, and Ulysses (Connie) Dunlap of Greenwood, SC; one sister, Celane Dunlap White of Ninety Six, SC; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Wharton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-7 P.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. Online condolences may be sent to robson@nctv.com.
