Ashbia Lark Jr., 77 of 1110 Brickyard Rd. Ninety-Six S.C. transitioned from his earthly life on Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born August 1, 1944 to the late Ashbia (KC) Lark and Hattie Pressley Lark. He was preceded in death by a son Anthony Lark, sisters Willie Belle Lark Collins, Eugenia “Jean” Reeder, and a special brother-in-law, Nylem Reeder.
Ashbia graduated from Edgewood High School, class of 1963. He was employed by Grede Foundry until his retirement. Ashbia continues his skills on welding to make unique bar-b-que grills.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children Ashbia Lark lll of the home, Greg Sims (Kenya) of Simpsonville, S.C., Gwendolyn Sims of Simpsonville S.C., Kiesha Lark of Ninety-Six S.C., and Shannon Lark of Charlotte, N.C. Nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Siblings: Anna “Toosie” Reeder of Ninety-Six S.C., Janie Alice “Jan” (Arskco) Raines of Pennslyvia, Hattie Mae Jackson of Greenwood S.C., George Lark of Greenwood S.C., and a brother-in- law Leroy Collins.
He leaves behind a special family friend Emma Wright and host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday July 21, 2022 at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, 6818 SC-702
Ninety Six, SC 29666 at noon with the Rev. Willie Cannady, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-6pm.
