Annie P. "Pee Wee" Gilchrist, 75, resident of Greenwood, departed this life on October 4, 2021, at Medical University of Charleston.
Born on December 8, 1945, to the late Daley Radden and the late Katherine Heller Gilchrist and stepdaughter of Johnny Gilchrist. She graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1963. She was a former supervisor of Monsanto and Solutia, and former part-time employee of GLEAMNS Human Resources Commission and a Bus monitor for Greenwood School District 50. She was a member of Dunham Temple C.M.E. Church, where she served as Church Clerk, member of the Missionary Society, Stewardess and one of the lead singers of the Choir. Annie enjoyed bowling and mostly spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by a brother, Samuel Marion Heller, two sisters, Barbra Aiken, and Mabel Gilchrist.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Samuel Dennis "Gil" Gilchrist (Erma Miller) of Greenwood, SC; a daughter, Kathy Levister (Wendel II) of Buford, GA; five sisters, Betty Brown, Mary Gilchrist, and Wynetta Reed of Greenwood, SC; Gwendolyn Williams of Columbia, SC and Ruby Arnold of Hodges, SC; six grandchildren, Samuel "DJ" Gilchrist (Jennie Dean) of Mooresville, NC; Wendell Levister,, III (Roshani) of Orlando, Fla; Joshua Levister of Buford, GA, Erica Levister (Chancellor Erskine) of Lawrenceville, GA, Amber Levister, Mya Levister of Atlanta, GA; three great grandchildren, Jaylen Erskine of Lawrenceville, GA, Ethan Levister and Aiden Levister both of Orlando, GA and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her and will cherish the memories.
Funeral services are 1:30 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Dunham Temple CME Church, conducted by Pastor James E. McKee, Sr. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 pm. Please be mindful and practice social distancing at the service. Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 1:00-6:00 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc. The family will be at the home of a sister, Wynetta Reed, 204 Raintree Lane. Please adhere to Covid guidelines when visting the family. Arrangements are being handled by Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc.
