Lillie Ree Wideman Gilbert

Lillie Ree Wideman Gilbert, 85, widow of the George Gilbert, Sr. died on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Velma and the late Kathrine Simmons Wideman. She was a graduate of Brewer High School and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was the last survivor of her immediate family and was preceded in death by two daughters, Thelma Hughes and Dorothea Gilbert.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, George W. Gilbert, Jr. and Michael Gilbert; two daughters Kathleen G. (Charlie) Jones and Vickie Ann Gilbert; two step-daughters, Charisse Callaway and Kim Sims; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; two special nephews, Kelsey Belcher and Devin Belcher and a special niece, Latasha Roundtree and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, with Bishop Emanuel Spearman, officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
