Joseph Dowtin

Joseph McAuthor Dowtin, 73, of 1319 Florida Avenue, husband of Pauline Calhoun Dowtin, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Hospice Care of the Piedmont. Born in Troy, SC, he was the son of the late Willie Dowtin. He was a member of Troy Bethel AME Church. Preceding him in death was three brothers, Willie Roscoe Dowtin, George Dowtin and Willie Wideman and one sister, Janie Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of Greenville; three sisters, Alice (David) Gaskin and Gladys Brown, both of Greenwood and Ruth (Rev. James) Price of McCormick; a step son, Danny Calhoun of Greenville; three step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Troy Bethel AME Church, conducted by Pastor Leatrice Annette Thomas.
