Jalis Jeremiah Anderson, 17, of 119 White Dansby Road, departed this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born on May 28, 2000 in Greenwood, he was the son of Sherika L. Anderson and Terrence J. Harris.
Jalis was a senior at Greenwood High School where teachers, classmates, and friends spoke highly of the manner of person he was on and off the campus. Jalis was a member of the National Beta Club. He was employed at Li'l Caesars, where his manager stated he was hard-working, very reliable, and a pleasure to work with. His future plans were to join the Armed Forces as a member of the Air Force upon graduation.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sammie Lee Anderson and Charlie Quarles, paternal grandparents, Georgia Mae Price Morton and Maude and James Harris.
In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his fond memories his maternal grandmother, Patricia Jennings Anderson, who reared him in the home; his paternal grandfather, Bobby Ray Anderson; great-grandmothers, Daisy Lee Jennings Quarles and Lula Mae Gary Anderson; his paternal grandparents, Rosa Lee Harris and Richard Harris and his paternal great grandfather, James Wes Morton; In addition, three brothers Caleb Harris, Chance Harris, and Kingston Harris; four sisters Cayleigh Anderson, Cherish Harris, Lauren Harris, and Jada Harris; a cousin, Arie Cannady, who was reared in the home like a sister; four aunts, Shante Wideman, Angel Anderson Cannady (Antonio), Latrell Collier, and Brittney Parks; four uncles, Malik Anderson, Richard (Kimberly) Harris, Richard Parks, and Christopher Johnson; god-parents, Sister Barbara Kelly, Reverend & Missionary Willie Cannady and Reverend & Sister Willie Cunningham and a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Greenwood High School Gymnasium, conducted by Bishop James C. Taylor, Sr. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park. The family is at the home.
